Established in 2021, Richard Foster Architects is a bespoke architecture and interiors practice, specialising in high-quality residential and educational architecture. We work across South Manchester and the surrounding areas, with extensive experience on projects in the Lake District and Anglesey.

We pride ourselves not only on the quality of our work but on the relationships we build. Each project begins with understanding your vision, gaining trust, and fostering collaboration to deliver a design tailored specifically to your needs.

Our studio works on a wide range of projects, from internal refurbishments, remodels, and extensions, to new-build homes. Our portfolio spans the UK and international projects, reflecting a commitment to thoughtful, functional, and visually striking design.

We emphasise the use of natural, sustainable materials, promoting honesty, quality, and longevity in every project. Our design philosophy focuses on simplicity, materiality, and light, creating spaces that are both inspiring and timeless.

With a strong grounding in construction detailing, we provide a complete service from initial concept through to project completion, ensuring both design excellence and practical delivery.

Richard Foster studied Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Architecture at Manchester University between 2004 and 2011. He began his professional career in 2007 at the internationally renowned architectural practice Broadway Malyan, contributing to high-profile projects across the UK.

After completing his diploma, Richard returned to Broadway Malyan in 2011, working from their Shanghai studio on a variety of international projects. In 2013, he came back to the UK to join the AJ100 practice ADP, gaining further experience in large-scale architecture projects, before establishing Richard Foster Architects in 2021.

Richard has a strong focus on sustainable contemporary architecture, with a particular interest in design quality, materiality, and attention to detail. He leads projects across South Manchester and the surrounding areas, as well as working on residential and commercial projects in the Lake District and Anglesey.
